The Program Design, Monitoring and Evaluation (DM&E) training is a two-day course covering the good practice principles of effective program design, monitoring and evaluation, using the tools of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent movement and AusAID as examples.
The DM&E introductory course is designed specifically for Red Cross staff and delegates only.
Topics include:
- program/project design
- goal-oriented and participatory design
- the log frame and other design frameworks
- principles of good monitoring practice
- types of evaluation and evaluation criteria
- developing an evaluation plan
Prior to the workshop, participants are required to complete the free online course "Project/Programme Planning (PPP)" which can be found on the IFRC learning platform.
DM&E courses are conducted and facilitated by experienced Red Cross trainers and technical specialists. The course is intensive, but with ample time and opportunity for discussion and learning from other participants.
Australian Red Cross does not offer scholarships or support for visa applications. Overseas residents should check with their nearest Australian embassy or the Department of Immigration & Citizenship before enquiring and registering for a course.
